Benny Carter And His Orchestra - Further Definitions ( VINYL )
Details
Benny Carter was one of the most consistent of saxophonists; every one of his recordings is a delight and worth obtaining, with the quality level always set high. Nowhere is this more obvious than on Further Definitions, his 1961 album originally released on Impulse and produced by Bob Thiele.
Effectively a revisiting of his 1937 Paris recordings and featuring the same four saxophones, piano, guitar, bass and drum line-up, it features an inspired repertoire list and, as youd expect, playing to perfection, including two of Bunnys best known compositions in "Blue Star" and "Doozy."
1. Honeysuckle Rose
2. That Midnight Sun Will Never Set
3. Crazy Rhythm
4. Blue Star
5. Cotton Tail
6. Body And Soul
7. Cherry
8. Doozy
